Margin of safety > Managing margin of safety calculations
Manipulating calculations with the Calculation Manager
You can review and manipulate margin of safety calculations from the Calculation Manager dialog box.
In the Calculation Manager dialog box, the software displays only the calculations whose method is the same as the method that you select from the Calculations list. To display all of the calculations, you can select All Methods from the Calculations list.
You can control the columns that are displayed in the Calculation Manager dialog box. The columns that are available for display depend on the method of the displayed calculations.
To the calculations that are displayed in the Calculation Manager dialog box, you can do the following:
Filter the calculations and sort the order in which they appear in the table. To do so, right-click the column heading of the cells to which you want to apply the filtering or sorting criteria and choose Filter, Sort Ascending, or Sort Descending.
Edit an individual numerical parameter for a calculation directly in the table. To do so, click in the cell that you want to change and type the new value and, if applicable, new units.Examples of numerical parameters include material properties, physical dimensions, and so on. Numerical parameters for calculations can have units.
Change the load case set for a calculation directly in the table. To do so, click in the cell that you want to change and choose the new load case set from the list.
Edit an individual numerical parameter or load case set for a calculation from the Edit dialog box.To do so, right-click in the cell that you want to change and choose Edit.
Edit the load extraction parameters for a calculation from the Load Extraction dialog box.To do so, right-click in the cell that you want to change and choose Edit.Examples of load extraction parameters include result type, result component, object selection, and so on.
Edit any of the parameters for a calculation from the Calculation Edition dialog box.To do so, right-click in the cell that you want to change and choose Calculation→Edit.
Copy or propagate a calculation. For information, see Duplicating calculations.
Note:
You cannot clone a calculation from the Calculation Manager dialog box.
The manipulations that you can perform from the Calculation Manager dialog box can also be performed from the Simulation Navigator. However, performing these manipulations from the Calculation Manager dialog box has the following advantages:
You can view all of the parameters for the displayed calculations simultaneously. Thus, it is easy to compare calculations.
You can edit multiple calculations simultaneously. To do so, use Ctrl+click to select the cells you want to edit. Then right-click the selection and choose Edit.
