Aligning nodes

Use Node Align to align one or more nodes with respect to a line you define by selecting two nodes. This is useful if you need to align nodes to facilitate creating loads or boundary conditions. When you use Node Align to align selected nodes, the software adjusts the edges of the elements associated with those nodes.

With Node Align, the software first moves the selected node to the nearest point on the specified alignment line. It then projects the node back to the underlying geometry along the current view direction.

Where do I find it?

  • Choose Nodes and Elements tab→Nodes group→Node Align .

  • Choose MenuEdit→Node→Align.
