Inverse FFT dialog box

This dialog box lets you perform an inverse Fast Fourier transformation (FFT) on any frequency-dependent data and converts them to time domain. The inverse FFT operation assumes that the provided frequency spectra is single-sided and corrected with a scaling factor 2 / N, where N is the number of samples of the original time signal.

Operation Name Type a name for the data signal processing operation.
Input Range Selection
Lets you constrain the input values so you calculate the corresponding time domain values only for a selected part of the input frequency signal. You can use these ranges to filter out unwanted frequency or divergent data.
Lower Limit Type****Upper Limit Type Specifies the type of lower or upper time limit you want to use. You can use either one of the following limit types:NoneApplies no constraints to the data.FrequencyConstrains the data to the specified frequency limits expressed in Hertz. For more information, see Additional magnitude options.SamplesConstrains the data with respect to the number of samples. Samples is useful for frequency data from a motion results file that has results at different engine RPMs or when the results were printed at constant angle intervals.
Output Post-processing
Lets you edit the time axis of the inverse FFT results.
Lower Limit Lets you specify the lower time limit to use for visualizing the result. For more information, see Additional magnitude options.
Upper Limit Lets you specify the upper time limit to use for visualizing the result. For more information, see Additional magnitude options.
Advanced
Relative Tolerance (%) Lets you specify the relative tolerance to use for the inverse FFT operation. The software uses the tolerance to test the equidistance of the frequency range.
