Assign nodal coordinate systems
Make sure the appropriate file is the work part. If the FEM file is the work part, the coordinate system assignment is saved with the FEM file and is inherited by all simulations that use that FEM file.
If the Simulation file is the work part, you can assign only nodal displacement coordinate systems. That coordinate system assignment overrides the nodal displacement coordinate system defined for the FEM file and is saved with the Simulation file.
Choose Menu→Edit→Node→Assign Nodal Coordinate System.
From the Type list, choose the type of nodal coordinate system. The Type list appears only if the FEM file is the work part.
Select the node or geometry to apply the coordinate system to. Choose from the following entity types:CurvePointMesh pointPolygon bodyPolygon facePolygon edgePolygon vertexNodeUse the selection filter to help you select the target entity.
From the CSYS list, choose the type of coordinate system to assign.
If you selected anything other than Global in the CSYS list, specify the coordinate system.
If you selected a curve or a polygon body, face, or edge, under Boundary Options, select the appropriate option to avoid conflicting coordinate system assignments for nodes on boundaries.
Click OK.
