Random Event dialog box (Specialist Durability)

Name - Description
Name Sets the random load event name.
Description Sets the random load event description.
Data Source
Data Source Lets you select or create a random data source for the random load event. A random data source consists of a mode set, forcing frequencies, vibration inputs, and optional correlation inputs.Select a predefined random data source from the list or click Create Data Source to create one using the Random Data Source dialog box.
Scaling
Scaling Factor Sets a greater than zero factor for scaling the vibration and correlation input functions that are defined in the load event’s random data source.
Durability Options
Durability options Specifies the method for estimating the probability distribution of the random load, which is defined by a power spectral density (PSD):Dirlik is recommended for typical durability loads.Narrow band is an analytical method to estimate the probability distribution. Choose this method only for narrow band loads as it is too conservative for typical durability loads.Equivalent sine wave is a simple deterministic approach that calculates an equivalent sine wave excitation based on the root mean square (RMS) of the PSD.
Load Length
Duration Lets you enter the duration of the load event in the Duration box.
Distance Lets you specify the load event's corresponding riding distance. For example, if a load event corresponds to 5000 km on a road and the durability simulation estimates that the load can be endured 300 times, this corresponds to a mileage of 150000 km.Enter DistanceLets you enter the distance of the load event in the Distance box.No Distance Information AvailableIndicates that no distance information is available. The software does not generate any mileage information for the post-processing.
Temperature Source
Temperature Source Specifies the temperature source to assign to the load event.
Create Temperature Source Opens the Temperature Source dialog box that lets you create a temperature source.
Edit Temperature Source Available when you select a temperature source from the list.Opens the Temperature Source dialog box that lets you modify the selected temperature source.
