Control the display of deformation
Click Apply at any time during the following procedures to view your current settings.
Display the deformed model
In the graphics window or the Post Processing Navigator, select a post view.
Choose Results tab→Post View group→Deformation .
Select the Deformation check box.
Select the Synchronize Color Display and Deformation check box.
Set the result to use for the deformation.
In the Scale box, type the scale factor and set it as a percentage of the model size or an absolute size in model units.
(Optional) Transform deformations with respect to a node location. For more information, see Transform deformations with respect to a node location.
Click OK.
Display the undeformed model along with the deformed model
In the graphics window or the Post Processing Navigator, select a post view containing elemental or element-nodal results.
Choose Results tab→Post View group→Deformation .
Select the Deformation check box.
Select the Show undeformed model check box.
In the Edges & Faces group, set Edges and Faces to the appropriate options and click Color to set the color of the edges or faces.Note: You must enable translucency to view translucent faces. To enable translucency, choose Menu→Preferences→Visualization. Click the Visual tab and select the Translucency check box.
Click OK.
Change the scaling to standard values
You can change the scaling of the deformation to set values using commands available from the Result group of the Results tab. The commands are also available when you right-click the background or contour plot in a post view and choose Deformation.
In the graphics window or the Post Processing Navigator, select a post view.
Choose Results tab→Result group and select a deformation scale: 10% Display the relative deformation of the model, scaled to ten percent of the model size.Absolute 1:1 Display the deformation as the absolute deformation in model units with a scale factor of 1.Off Turn off the deformation.
