Create the parallel configuration file

  1. In the Simulation Navigator, right-click the solution node and choose Edit. The Solution dialog box opens.

  2. In the Parallel Processing group, select the Run Solution in Parallel check box.

  3. Click Create New File. The Parallel Configuration Tool opens and loads the specified parallel configuration XML file.

  4. Under Enable Parallel, select any of the following check boxes:View Factors to validate machines for performing view factor computations in parallel using the HEMIVIEW and VUFAC thermal solver modules.Solvers to validate machines for running the parallel thermal solver or the parallel flow solver.

  5. Under Settings, in the Value column, double-click the cell for the No. processors for View Factors and No. processors for Solvers properties, and enter the number of processors that you want to use for the master computer. The No. processors on Computer property indicates the maximum processors you have on this computer. The master computer is the computer on which the Parallel Configuration Tool is running.

  6. Add additional computers to the computer list.To add another computer, do the following:Choose EditAdd Computer.Type the name of the computer.Repeat step 5 to modify the number of processors that you want to use for the new computer.

  7. If, under Settings, the value cell for the Status property does not display Success, follow the instructions under Validation Output.

  8. Choose FileSave As.

  9. Enter the path and name for the parallel configuration XML file.

  10. Choose FileExit.
