ANSYS environment
Customizing ANSYS input files with user defined text
In some cases, you may want to insert either specific text or an entire text file into your solver input file. You can create a User Defined Text type of modeling object to add that text. For example, you can use User Defined Text to include solver commands or options that are not yet supported in the Pre/Post user interface in your solution.
For ANSYS solutions, you can create a User Defined Text modeling object to specify:
The text to add and whether to add it to the beginning or end of the input file section.
The name of an external file to add. If you choose to include a file, the software uses the ANSYS /INPUT command to insert the file.
For example, you can use a User Defined Text modeling object to insert an external file that contains a portion of your ANSYS input file. The file can contain, for example, model definition data, comment lines, or other references to external files.
You can add a User Defined Text object to include text or a file in either a Solution or a Solution Step (subcase).
If you include a User Defined Text object in a Solution, you can control whether the software inserts the text:At the beginning of the ANSYS input file (after the /PREP7 command). At the end of the element block (after the EBLOCK command).
If you include a User Defined Text object in a Solution Step, you can control whether the software inserts the text:At the beginning of the step (before any of the cumulative option commands such as DCUM or FCUM).At the end of the step (before the LSWRITE command).
