Compiling the Simcenter Samcef UMAT subroutine
After you design all the OVMB* routines, you need to compile them into a dll file.
Compiling
To create your dll, you open a terminal (Linux) or a command/PowerShell (Windows) window and:
You copy all your routines (OVMBXX.f and all the required OVMB*.f subroutines) into a single folder.
You set the SAM_COMPILER environment variable to the location of your compiler bin directory.
You manually run the Samcef procedure as samcef dll [dll_name] where [dll_name] is the name of the dll you want to create. By default the name is User.dll.Note: To manually run the Samcef procedure, specific environment variables must exist, like the SAM*EXE variable that specify the path to the Simcenter Samcef installation folder. The classical UGII variables, like the UGII_SAMCEF variable, cannot be used.
For more information, see the Creation of a user dynamic library page in the Simcenter Samcef documentation.
Uploading the dll
Then you upload this dll file in a folder and reference that file. You can do this in two ways:
Either you explicitly define the SAM_USERDLL to reference the file.
Either you define the path to this file in the Samcef User Material page of the Solver Parameters dialog box. For more information, see Solver Parameters dialog box (Simcenter Samcef).
Note:
Once this environment variable is defined, the compiled dll file will be loaded by Simcenter Samcef, even if no user-material is defined in the input file.
