User-defined output requests (Simcenter Samcef)

In Simcenter Samcef, you can also manually specify Simcenter Samcef codes that are not predefined in Simcenter 3D Output Requests. They are the User Codes.

User-defined structural results

For structural results, you can define User Codes for the following modeling objects:

  • Structural Linear Output Requests

  • Structural Modal Output Requests

  • Structural Buckling Output Requests

  • Structural Non Linear Output Requests

  • Structural Dynamic Response Output Requests

  • Thermal Output Requests

For these structural modeling objects, you can define the User Codes in different ways:

  • You can set User Codes by defining a space-delimited list of valid Simcenter Samcef results codes that you want to compute on a given list of nodes or elements. As for classical Output Requests, you define once a list of codes that you apply onto a given list of entities.

  • You can enable specific Material User Codes that you want your user material law to compute.

  • You can define User Codes Arrays that contain several Nodal User Codes or Element User Codes modeling objects. On the contrary to the classical User Codes of the Output Requests method, you can then:Define several modeling objects that set the same Output Requests result codes on different list of entities.Define several modeling objects that set different list of Output Requests result codes on the same list of entities.Note: Even if the use of the User Codes Arrays is more flexible than the use of the classical User Codes, however, if you select shells as support for the results, you cannot choose the Location of the selected results. For more information, see Nodal User Codes Output Requests dialog box (Simcenter Samcef) and Element User Codes Output Requests dialog box (Simcenter Samcef).

For more information on the user codes, see Structural Output Requests User Result Code Selection dialog box (Simcenter Samcef).

User-defined time history graph results

For time history graph results, you can define User Codes for the following modeling objects:

  • Non-linear Output Requests Element 9xxx

  • Non-linear Output Requests Nodal 9xxx

  • Thermal Output Requests Element

  • Thermal Output Requests Nodal

  • Linear Transient Output Requests Nodal 9xxx

  • Linear Harmonic Output Requests Nodal 9xxx

To define the User Codes for these modeling objects, select User from the Category list, and use the User Code box to manually enter a space-delimited list of valid Simcenter Samcef codes.

In the Select Nodes or Select Elements group, select the nodes or elements to which you want to attach the result.

Note:

In Simcenter Samcef nonlinear analysis output requests, you can also use the DOFS group to limit the output to a specific list of degrees of freedom or components. To do so, manually enter a space-delimited list of valid degrees of freedom or components.

For more information, see the elements post-processing results codes page in the Simcenter Samcef solver documentation.
