Modeling Object
Name Defines the modeling object name.
Label Specifies a unique numerical identifier for the modeling object.
Properties
Description Lets you enter a brief description. Click to open a text editor where you can enter a longer description.
Card Name Displays the name of the solver card for fan harmonics.
Definition Type Specifies the harmonics computation method.
Harmonics Type Specifies the harmonic type. Harmonics are integer multiples of a fundamental frequency.Shaft HarmonicsA shaft harmonic is the frequency of rotation expressed as an integer multiple of the rotation frequency. The rotation frequency is:RF = n / 60where:RF = rotation frequencyn = rotation speed (RPM)For example, for a shaft turning at 6000 RPM, the shaft rotation frequency is 100 Hz. The first shaft harmonic is equal to 1, or one times the rotation frequency. A shaft harmonic of two is equal to two times the rotation frequency, and so on.Blade HarmonicsA blade harmonic is an integer multiple of the blade pass frequency. The blade pass frequency (BPF) is:BPF = B n / 60where:BPF = Blade Pass FrequencyB = number of bladesn = rotation speed (RPM)The first blade harmonic is equal to 1, or one times the BPF. The second blade harmonic is 2, or two times the BPF, and so on.
Fan Noise Parameters Specifies the Fan Noise Parameters modeling object to define fan and tonal parameters that model the rotating objects for aeroacoustics solutions. For more information, see Fan Noise Parameters dialog box.
Harmonics List
Individual Harmonics Appears when Definition Type is set to Individual Harmonics.Lets you specify first harmonic.
Linear Step Appears when Definition Type is set to Linear Step. You specify the Start, End and Step values for the fundamental harmonics.
Add Sub-Harmonics Lets you specify sub-harmonics of frequency steps for Shaft Harmonics only.
Number of Sub-Harmonics Appears when the Add Sub-Harmonics check box is selected. You specify the number of sub-harmonics, which are harmonics spaced between the fundamental harmonics.
