Define Constraints dialog box – Geometry Optimization

Constraints
Type Select from these response types: Frequency (from modal or linear buckling analysis solutions)WeightVolumeResult Measure (displacement, stress, reaction force, temperature, and so on)For more information about the Result Measure command, see Exporting result quantities as named expressions.
Category Defines the scope of the constraint. 1D Constraints — Limits the constraint to 1D beam meshes in the model.2D Constraints — Limits the constraint to 2D shell meshes in the model.3D Constraints — Limits the constraint to 3D solid meshes in the model.Model Constraints — Applies the constraint to the entire model.
Apply To Available when Category is set to 1D Constraints, 2D Constraints, or 3D Constraints.Sets a selection filter so that you can select the appropriate areas of your model to which you want to apply the objective.
Select Meshed Geometry Available when Category is set to 1D Constraints, 2D Constraints, or 3D Constraints.Lets you select the geometry on which to define the constraint.
Constraints list/Edit Constraints list Displays the constraint available for the constraint type and category you selected. For example, if you created a Result Measure type of constraint, the name of the result measure and the extracted result are displayed.
Parameters
Limit Type Sets the constraint limit type to Upper or Lower.
Limit Value Specifies the value to limit. This upper or lower limit is the response criteria that the software is not allowed to violate when converging on an optimization solution.
Unit Available when Type is set to Weight or Volume.Specifies the unit of measure for the Limit Value.
