Groups
Apply a force to the entities in an existing group
In this procedure, you define a force by magnitude and direction and apply it to the entities in an existing group.
Choose Home tab→Loads and Conditions group→Force .
In the Force dialog box, in the Type group, from the list, select Magnitude and Direction.
In the Model Objects group, select the Group Reference check box.All of the groups appear in the Options list.
(Optional) Use the Filter by Name and Filter by Label options to reduce the number of groups in the Options list.
From the Filter Type list, select the type of FE or geometric entity type to which you want to apply the load or boundary condition.
In the Options list, click the group that you want to select. If the group contains FE or geometric entities that are the same type as the filter type selection, the number of these FE or geometric entities in the group appears in the Select Object option. If the group does not contain FE or geometric entities that are the same type as the filter type selection, the Select Object option displays zero and you must select a different group.
In the Magnitude group, in the Force box, enter the magnitude of the force.
In the Direction group, specify the direction of the force.
Click OK.
