Define enforced acceleration using components (Abaqus)

The Components type lets you specify an enforced acceleration on a set of nodes in the translational degrees of freedom (DOF1 to DOF3) and/or the rotational degrees of freedom (DOF4 to DOF6).

  1. Choose Home tab→Loads and Conditions group→Constraint Type list→Enforced Acceleration .

  2. In the Enforced Acceleration Constraint dialog box, from the Type list, select Components.

  3. In the Model Objects group, click Select Object and select the nodes to apply the constraint to.

  4. In the Direction group, select the coordinate system to use to define the enforced acceleration.

  5. In the Degrees of Freedom group, enter the enforced acceleration magnitude (as a constant value or expression) for the appropriate degrees of freedom. For example, for DOF3, specify the following values that vary over time in a table:Row ID time (sec)acceleration (mm/sec^2) *110220.1533.50.25470.45For more information about defining expressions, see Expressions.

  6. Click OK.
