Create an analysis solution containing the reduced mass matrix
Create a Simcenter Nastran SOL 103 Real Eigenvalues solution with reduced mass matrix for correlation cross-orthogonality results.
In the Simulation Navigator, right-click the Simulation file node and choose New Solution.
In the Solution dialog box, verify that:The Solver list is set to Simcenter Nastran.The Analysis Type list is set to Structural.
From the Solution Type list, select SOL 103 Real Eigenvalues.
On the General tab, under Solution Process, from Solution Process list, select Correlation.
On the Case Control tab, verify that your output request includes displacement results.In the Output Requests row, click Edit .In the Subcase 1 dialog box, click the Displacement tab.Verify that the Enable DISPLACEMENT Request is selected.Click OK.
On the Case Control tab, define the extraction method and the number of desired modes.From the Real Eigenvalue Extraction Data list, select the method you want to use.In the Lanczos Method or Householder Method row, click Create Modeling Object .In the Real Eigenvalue dialog box, in the Properties group, under Frequency Options, in the Number of Desired Modes box, type the number of desired modes.(Optional) In the Frequency Range – Lower Limit box, type the frequency that is the lower limit of the frequency range for your modes or leave it blank.(Optional) In the Frequency Range – Upper Limit box, type the frequency that is the upper limit of the frequency range for your modes or leave it blank.Click OK.
On the Bulk Data tab, expand DOF Sets group.
From the Analysis (ASET) list, select the existing DOF set or click New DOF Set to create a new DOF set. For steps to create a new DOF set, see Create a DOF set.
In the Solution dialog box, click OK.
In the Simulation Navigator, right-click the Solution node that you just created and choose Solve.Note: Creating the reduced mass matrix solution works only for the NX Nastran version 6.1 or later, or any version of Simcenter Nastran. For more information on setting the solver executable and solver version, see Solver Parameters dialog box (Nastran).
In the Solve dialog box, click OK.
