Boundary conditions > Using a node table to create a load

Creating loads using node ID tables

A node ID table contains a list of node IDs and corresponding scale factors. For each node in the node ID table, the magnitude of the load, constraint, or simulation object is multiplied by the scale factor.

Once you create a node ID table, you can import it into a field. When you set the boundary condition Type to Node ID Table, you can then select the field to define the scale factors for specific nodes.

The image shows a portion of a node ID table defined in a spreadsheet. The first column contains a list of node IDs. The second column contains force values for the X component, the third contains force values for the Y component, and the fourth contains force values for the Z component.

Where do I find it?

Node ID tables can be defined for these boundary conditions: Force, Moment, Temperature Load, Thermal Constraints, and Initial Temperatures.
