Suppress Feature dialog box
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Filter | Allows you to control the features that are listed in the list box. The filter can substitute either of the following wildcards for literals to select a range of features:? (question mark) substitutes for any single character except a period.***** (asterisk) substitutes for any character string, including strings with a period and null strings. |
| features list | Displays a list of all features available for suppression. Note: If no features display, make sure you've enabled feature suppression in Modeling (Edit → Feature → Suppress by Expression). You can select a feature from this list or from the graphics window. Shift+click to deselect a feature. If a feature name is selected from the list, the corresponding feature is also highlighted in the graphics window. If a feature is selected in the graphics window, its name is also highlighted in the list. If you select the target body to be suppressed, all features associated with the target are also suppressed. You can select multiple features from multiple bodies before applying the suppress operation. |
| List Dependents | When enabled, displays the feature's child objects. |
| Selected Features | Lists all features selected for suppression. |
| Selection Criteria | Allows you to suppress small features before meshing. You can specify a maximum size for holes, blends or chamfers (diameter, radius, and offset lengths respectively). The software automatically selects features smaller than the specified size for suppression. Suppressing small features leads to FE models with fewer, more consistent, better quality elements. This decreases analysis time and the model's footprint without affecting the accuracy of the analysis. After you specify the features and a maximum size, the software uses this input to search the model. All features that match the criteria are then selected for suppression. |
