Solution Control Monitor

The Solution Control Monitor lets you display real-time instantaneous results, while they are computed by the solver.

  • For the thermal solver, the Solution Control Monitor displays instantaneous temperature results for all solid thermal elements.

  • For the flow solver, the Solution Control Monitor displays one of the instantaneous fluid temperature, fluid velocity, fluid velocity magnitude, or fluid static pressure results for all fluid elements.

You can further examine results on clipped planes, or probe individual node results. You can display velocity results with arrows or streamlines to track how the fluid is moving in the flow domain.

Controlling solver parameters during the solve

You can modify thermal and flow convergence criteria, flow solver time step value for steady state solutions, and the thermal solver maximum temperature change. The solvers use the updated parameters at the next iteration.

The ability to change solver parameters while the analysis is solving can reduce the duration of the solve, by applying less stringent convergence criteria, without restarting the solution.
