Chain a new structural solution with a mapping solution (Simcenter Samcef)

You can use the results of a Mapping solution (mapping _it3.txt results file) as thermal load entries for a new structural solution.

  1. In the Solution dialog box of the new structural solution, select the Chaining page.

  2. Select the Activate Chaining check box.

  3. From the Chaining Type list, select Chained thermal-structural analysis with dissimilar mesh. This option lets you reference a previously solved Mapping solution.

  4. In the Results Sources group, in the Source Type list, either:Select External File. Then, in the ***.txt File** box, type or browse to the local _it3.txt mapping results file you want to use. For more information on this file, see Mapping results text file (Simcenter Samcef).Select Solution and select a solution in the current model. The _it3.txt mapping results file is then automatically fetched from that solution.

The _it3.txt file is inserted into the Simcenter Samcef input file of the new structural solution. An INPUT entry appears before any Temperature Load definition (or Degree of Cure or Glass Transition Temperature):

...
INPUT "C:\Projects\IT3\it3_sim1-Mapping.txt"
! SAMCEF Bank File : THERMAL LOADS.
.CLT
 TFX NOEUD I 2 VALEUR 2.00000000E+01 TIME 2.00000000E+00

Any temperature (or degree of cure or glass transition temperature) thermal load manually defined in the new solution appears after this entry and then overwrites the entries from the mapping solution.
