Request output for Direct Acoustic, Indirect Acoustic, and Indirect Vibro-Acoustic analysis types (Acoustics BEM)

You can request the following results as outputs:

  • Acoustical Mesh Results — Pressure, Normal Velocity, Normal Intensity.

  • Microphone Results — Pressure, Velocity, Intensity.

  • Acoustic Power — Acoustic Power.

  • Structural Results — Displacement, Velocity Acceleration and its Modal Contributions.

  1. Choose Home tab→Properties group→Modeling Objects .Alternatively, click Create Modeling Object in the Output Requests group of the direct acoustic, indirect acoustic, or indirect vibro-acoustic Solution dialog box.

  2. In the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box, from the Type list, select the appropriate type of output request. The available types depend on the Analysis Type that you select in the Solution dialog box.

  3. Click Create.

  4. In the Output Requests dialog box, in the Properties group, for a direct BEM acoustic analysis, click the Acoustical Mesh Results tab, and from the Vector (SORT1) group, select the appropriate output requests.

  5. In the Properties group, click the Microphone Results tab and do the following:From the Vector (SORT1) group, select the appropriate output requests. From the Function (SORT2) Pressure group, select the appropriate entity. All Microphone Nodes — Selects all the microphone nodes on which to calculate the pressure. All Isolated Microphone Nodes — Selects all the isolated microphone nodes on which to calculate the pressure.Selected Microphone Nodes — Lets you specify the microphone nodes on which to calculate the pressure either by group reference or by directly selecting the microphone nodes.By selecting existing group(s):Select the Group Reference  check box. From the Options group table, select the appropriate group.By selecting the microphone nodes:Click Select Microphone Nodes  and select the microphone nodes from a microphone mesh. For an indirect BEM vibro-acoustic analysis, select the Panel Contributions to Acoustic Pressure check box and the Structural Modal Contributions to Acoustic Pressure  check box to calculate the acoustic pressure contributions on selected microphone nodes.

  6. In the Properties group, click the Acoustic Power tab and do the following:From the Function (SORT2) group, select the appropriate entity. All 2D Microphone Meshes — Selects all 2D microphone meshes on which to calculate acoustic power.Selected Groups of 2D Microphone Elements — Lets you specify the groups of 2D microphone elements on which to calculate the acoustic power either by selecting existing group(s) or by creating new group(s).By selecting existing group(s):In the Options group, select the appropriate group(s) from existing ones.By creating new group(s):From the Select Group, click .You can define the group of 2D microphone elements for acoustic power. For an indirect BEM vibro-acoustic analysis, select the Panel Contributions to Acoustic Power check box and the Structural Modal Contributions to Acoustic Power  check box to calculate the power contributions on selected microphone elements.

  7. In the Properties group, for indirect BEM vibro-acoustic analysis click the Structural Results tab. From the Vector (SORT1) group, select the appropriate output requests. From the Function (SORT2) group, select the appropriate output requests and select the group for which results are requested. You can also request its modal contributions by selecting check box for the particular output request. It requests the modal contribution function on selected group for specified output request.

  8. Click OK to close the Output Requests dialog box.The defined output requests are added to the Selection group table of the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box.

  9. (Optional) Repeat steps 3 through 8 to define additional output requests.

  10. Click Close to close the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box.

Add the defined output requests to the solution

  1. Right-click an active direct BEM acoustic, or indirect BEM acoustic, or indirect BEM vibro-acoustic solution and choose Edit.

  2. In the Solution dialog box, in the Output Requests group, from the Output Requests list, select the appropriate output requests.

  3. Click OK to close the Solution dialog box.
