Creating durability solver parameters and solver profiles

Use the Solver Parameters command to create solver parameters with optimal properties suited for the available hardware and its configuration. You can use the Solver Profiles command to define a list of solver parameters, called a solver profile, to customize the solution parameters for each specialist durability solution and function definition. For example, you can customize the solution to evaluate the function definition for a single weld on your desktop, and compute the fatigue life of the entire assembly on a cluster.

Since the optimal solver parameters depend on the available hardware and its configuration, the software automatically loads user and site solver parameters to solve a model with the optimal solver parameters when the model is shared by different organizations. This is a significant improvement over the Simcenter 3D solution solver parameters, which are partially stored in the Simulation file and partially defined in the installation files, which give you only limited editing privileges.

Durability solver parameters

Using the Solver Parameters command, you can:

  • Create and delete local solver parameters.

  • Inspect and copy the solver parameters.

  • Edit and update the properties of local solver parameters.

  • Load a solver parameter definition from the solver parameter library to the local Simulation file.

Use the Solver Parameter Libraries command to export solver parameters to XML files, and edit and delete custom solver parameters.

Durability solver profiles

Using the Solver Profiles command, you can:

  • Create and delete local solver profiles.

  • Add, delete, and edit the solver profile's solver parameters.

  • Inspect and copy the solver profiles.

  • Edit and update the properties of local solver profiles.

  • Load a solver profile definition from the solver profile library to the local Simulation file.

Use the Solver Profile Libraries command to export the solver profiles to XML files, and edit and delete custom solver profiles.
