Remesh dialog box
| Select Mesh | |
|---|---|
| Mesh | Lets you select the existing mesh or meshes to remesh. You can select a source mesh of linear triangular or linear quadrilateral elements only.Note: You cannot select individual 2D elements, 3D element faces, or quadrilateral elements that are associated with non-manifold faces. |
| Global Element Size | |
| Target Element Size | Specifies the desired element size for the selected faces. To specify the element size as a function of frequency, click the DesignLogic list and select Function to use the SizeForAcoustics function. For more information, see Element size for acoustic analysis. |
| Mesh Parameters | |
| Maximum Growth Rate | Lets you specify the maximum rate at which the element size can change. For example, if you specify a value of 1, the element size remains constant through the mesh. If you specify a value of 2, then the midpoint of an element edge at a distance of 1 away from another element edge can either be double or half the size of the other element edge. |
| Curvature Settings | |
| Level of Discretization Based on Curvature | Lets the software modify element size based on the curvature in a given region of the mesh so that the software creates more, smaller elements in areas of high curvature. Specify a value between 0 and 100.If you specify a lower value, the software keeps the element length fairly constant through the mesh, even in regions of high curvature. If you specify a higher value, the software decreases the element length in regions of high curvature.Note: The software does not make the elements in the new mesh smaller than the elements in the input mesh based on this setting. |
| Minimum Element Size (% Target Element Size) | Controls the size of the smallest element in the model. |
| Minimum Element Size | Displays the length of the shortest element edge in the model based on the Target Element Size and the setting of the Minimum Element Size (% Target Element Size) slider. |
| Enable Distance Based Size Variation | Controls the availability of additional options that you can use to vary the density of the elements in the mesh based on the curvature of the underlying geometry. |
| Maximum Distance to Original Mesh | Available if the Enable Distance Based Size Variation check box is selected.Specifies the maximum deviation allowed from the original mesh and the resulting mesh. This option primarily affects the appearance of the resulting mesh in regions of curvature.Note: The software does not make the elements in the new mesh smaller than the elements in the input mesh based on this setting. |
| Maximum Level of Discretization Based on Curvature | Available if the Enable Distance Based Size Variation check box is selected.Specifies the upper limit on the amount that the software can vary the length of elements in regions of high curvature. |
