Enforced displacement constraint
An enforced displacement constraint applies a known displacement to geometry or FE entities, depending on the type of constraint.
| You can apply this type of constraint | To this geometry or FE entity |
|---|---|
| Magnitude and Direction****Component | curvepointmesh pointpolygon facepolygon edgenode |
| Face Normal | curvepointmesh pointpolygon facepolygon edgeelement |
Note:
When you define an enforced displacement constraint on geometry, a local coordinate system is created and applied to the underlying nodes. If local coordinate systems already exist at these nodes, the constraint's coordinate system may overwrite them. For example, if you define a constraint on a location where spring elements are defined, the constraint's coordinate system may overwrite the spring element definitions.
For information about the enforced displacement constraint in the Simcenter Samcef environment, see Simcenter Samcef environment.
