Generate a contour plot of element thickness

To generate a contour plot of 2D element thicknesses:

  1. Choose Home tab→Checks and Information group→Plot Model Contours :

  2. In the Plot Model Contours dialog box, from the plot input list, select Thickness.

  3. Select the mesh or meshes for which to plot the thicknesses. You can plot the thicknesses of all displayed 2D meshes or of selected meshes only.The software creates a standard post view and generates a smooth contour plot of thickness values at nodes.

  4. (Optional) On the Results tab, click Edit Post View . Use the options on the Post View dialog box to control the display type, legend and color bar, edge and face displays, and markers and annotation. For more information, see Set up the display of a contour plot post view.

  5. (Optional) Click Identify Results to probe thicknesses at nodes or export thickness values to a CSV file or spreadsheet. For more information, see Identifying results.

  6. When you have finished viewing the contour plot, click Return to Model .The software deletes the post view and restores the display to your FE model.
