Convection (Simcenter Samcef)

Convection models the heat exchange of a structure with a fluid at a prescribed temperature or a prescribed enthalpy.

When you define the Convection constraint on a support, you define:

  • The Fluid Temperature (TFC).

  • The Convection Coefficient (CONV).

  • The Exponent (EXP) of the convection law.

Where do I find it?

To define the convection, do one of the following:

  • In the Simulation Navigator, right-click Constraint ContainerNew ConstraintConvection.

  • In the Simulation Navigator under a Solution, right-click ConstraintsNew ConstraintConvection.

  • Choose Home tab→Loads and Conditions group→Convection .

  • Select geometry. Right-click and choose Create ConstraintConvection.
