Duct Flow Boundary Conditions dialog box – Duct to 3D Flow Connection options
The Duct to 3D Flow Connection type of the Duct Flow Boundary Conditions simulation object is not available in the Multiphysics solver environment.
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | Defines the simulation object's name.Description opens an editor that lets you type a description for the simulation object. |
| Destination Folder | |
| Simulation Object Container | Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the boundary condition will be stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container. |
| Folder Manager | Displays a hierarchical listing of existing folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder. |
| Region | |
| Group Reference | Lets you apply the duct to 3D connection to a group. For more information, see Group Reference options. |
| Select Object | Lets you select the polygon faces that represent the interface where the duct networks join the 3D fluid volume.Excluded lets you remove individual entities from within your selected object.Note: When multiple ducts are connected to the same face you only need to use one Duct to 3D Flow Connection simulation object, however you must ensure the following:The projected cross areas of the ducts do not intersect. The element faces touched in the projection of the duct cross area are not touched by any other duct interface. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Parameters | |
| Flow Condition at Interface | Specifies how the flow conditions are characterized at the interface between the duct network and the 3D fluid volume.Auto-DetermineSpecifies that the software automatically determines the conditions at the interface. This is the recommended option.Mass FlowSpecifies that the duct flow solver and the 3D flow solver exchange mass flow data at the interface.PressureSpecifies that the duct flow solver and the 3D flow solver exchange pressure data at the interface. |
| Head Loss | Sets the head loss at a duct opening as the fluid passes into or out of the system. |
