| Method | |
|---|---|
| Method | Lets you specify how the software should stitch the edges.Select Automatic to have the software automatically stitch geometry within the selected body.Select Manual to select the geometry to stitch. |
| Geometry to Stitch | Lets you specify the type of geometry to stitch.Select Edge to Edge to stitch free edges to other edges in the selected body.Select Edge to Face to stitch free edges into faces in the selected body.Select Both to have the software stitch free edges to other edges and free edges into faces. This option is only available if Method is set to Automatic. |
Automatic method options
| Select Body | |
|---|---|
| Select Body | Lets you select the body in which to stitch the polygon geometry. |
| Excluded Edge | Lets you select free edges in the body that you do not want the software to stitch. |
| Tolerances | |
| Search Distance | If you select Edge to Face, Edge to Edge, or Both from the Geometry to Stitch list, lets you specify the distance within which the software searches for appropriate target faces or edges. |
| Snap Ends | Lets you specify the tolerance value the software uses to prevent projecting the end of the source edge too close to the end of the target edge. If the projected location of the source edge's end is within the specified Snap Ends distance of the target edge's end, the software projects the end of the source edge onto the end of the target edge instead. This prevents the software from generating two nodes very close together at the end of an edge when you mesh your model. For more information, see Understanding the Snap Ends option. |
Manual Edge to Edge options
| Source Edge | |
|---|---|
| Select Edge | Lets you select the free edge to stitch. |
| Target Geometry | |
| Select Edge | Lets you select the edge to which to stitch the source edge. |
| Tolerances | |
| Snap Ends | Lets you specify the tolerance value the software uses to control how the software stitches the end of the source edge to the target edge. |
Manual Edge to Face options
| Source Edge | |
|---|---|
| Select Edge | Lets you select the free edge to stitch. |
| Target Geometry | |
| Select Face | Lets you select the face to which you want to stitch the source edge. |
| Tolerances | |
| Snap Ends | Lets you specify the tolerance value the software uses to control whether the source edge is projected onto the boundary edge of the selected face or imprinted on the face itself. If the projected location of the source edge is within the specified Snap Ends distance of a boundary edge of the target face, the software projects the edge onto the boundary edge. For more information, see Understanding the Snap Ends option. |
