Residual vector loads in a SOL 103 Real Eigenvalue solution

You use the normal modes subcase named Subcase - Normal Modes, Residual Vector Loads to define dynamic loads in a SOL 103 Real Eigenvalues solution in Simcenter Nastran. The solver computes and stores the residual vectors from frequency-dependent load. This solution is valid for Structural or Vibro-Acoustic analyses.

With this subcase the solver computes the normal modes and natural frequencies with the residual vector loads method to include loads and enforced motion.

In the Subcase - Normal Modes, Residual Vector Loads subcase, create a Frequency Excitation Set, and then create a new Load Set, in which you can apply the following loads:

  • Applied Load

  • Enforced Displacement

  • Enforced Velocity

  • Enforced Acceleration

Note:

Loads created from Load Recipes are not supported in the Subcase - Normal Modes, Residual Vector Loads subcase.

You can apply Bolt Pre-Loads manually to each subcase. Bolt Pre-loads cannot be frequency-dependent and are not included in the residual vector computations.
