Samcef environment > Solving a Samcef solution
Line search (Simcenter Samcef)
The Newton method chooses a step length when its computes a function, but the step length is valid only when the Newton quadratic model for the function reflects that function.
The idea of the line search is to control the length of the Newton method step by minimizing the energy error or the force residue.
In the Simcenter Samcef environment, when you edit a subcase, you can use the Line Search Activation (.SUB ILNS) option to start the line search control.
