Diffraction dialog box
This simulation object lets you define diffractions to account for the spreading of rays.
| Type | |
|---|---|
| Type | Specifies the type of the diffraction that you can apply on element edges or faces of acoustic fluid elements.Diffraction EdgesDefines diffraction on a continuous edge.Diffraction SurfaceDefines diffraction on a continuous surface. |
| Name | |
| Name | Specifies the name of the diffraction simulation object. |
| Description | Specifies the description for the diffraction simulation object. |
| Destination Folder | |
| Simulation Object Container | Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which to store the new diffraction simulation object. The list includes the root container and folders that you created using the New Folder command in the Simulation Object Container. |
| Folder Manager | Displays a hierarchical list of folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder. |
| Free edges****Surface | |
| Defines the support for the diffractions. | |
| Edges to put diffraction on | Lets you select edges of 2D fluid elements for the diffraction. |
| Elements to put diffraction on | Lets you select faces of 2D fluid elements for the diffraction. |
| Group Reference | Lets you select the groups of free edges or faces of fluid elements to apply diffractions. For more information, see Group Reference options. |
| Select Object | Appears when the Group Reference check box is selected.Lets you select the FE entities on which to apply the diffractions.Excluded:Lets you remove individual entities from within the selected object. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Options | |
| Diffraction Type | Specifies where the diffraction occurs.ForwardDefines diffraction on element edges or faces of acoustic fluid elements only in the forward zone.Shadow onlyDefines that the diffraction occurs only in the shadow of the selection.EverywhereDefines that the diffraction occurs on the entire diffraction cone. |
| Diffraction on Dihedron's | Lets you specify on which dihedron side the software computes the diffraction.Exterior AngleDefines computation on the side that corresponds with the exterior dihedral angle.Interior AngleDefines computation on the side that corresponds with the interior dihedral angle. Both AnglesDefines computation on both dihedron sides. |
