Temperature Source dialog box
| Name - Description | |
|---|---|
| Name | Sets a name for the temperature source load. |
| Description | Sets a description for the temperature source load. |
| Temperature Distribution | |
| Distribution Method | Specifies the regions of the model where the temperature source load is applied.Entire ModelLets you apply the same temperature source load to the entire finite element model.GroupsLets you apply a different temperature source load to each group of elements or nodes. |
| Temperature Loads | |
| Temperature | Available when you select Entire Model from the Distribution Method list.Sets the temperature magnitude, to be applied to the entire model, by entering a constant value or by using an expression. |
| The following options are available when you select Groups from the Distribution Method list. | |
| Add Temperature Load | Opens the Group Selection dialog box, which lets you select one or more groups of elements/nodes and assign a constant temperature to them. The created temperature load appears in the temperature loads list. |
| Remove Temperature Load | Available when you select one or more temperature loads from the temperature loads list.Removes the selected temperature loads from the temperature loads list. |
| Edit Temperature Load | Available when you select a temperature load from the temperature loads list.Opens the Group Selection dialog box, which lets you modify the selected groups and their assigned temperature for the temperature load. |
| Temperature loads list | Lists the temperature loads, which you define on groups of elements or nodes. For each temperature load, the list displays the names of the selected groups, separated by commas, the type of the temperature load, and the magnitude of the constant temperature assigned to the groups. |
| Temperature for Remaining Structure | Lets you set the temperature value for the remaining region of the structure, which is not covered in the defined temperature loads, in the Temperature box. When you clear the Temperature for Remaining Structure check box, the region of the structure that is not covered in the defined temperature loads is excluded in durability analysis. |
| Overlap Resolution | Identifies the process that the solver uses to resolve the overlap conflict, by specifying which temperature load is considered in the overlap area: Maximum, Minimum, or Average. The overlap conflict occurs when the specified groups have overlapping elements or nodes. |
