Distributed Force dialog box
| Type | |
|---|---|
| Type | Specifies how the distributed force load is defined.Components Scalar FieldAllows you to define each of the six components (FX, FY, FZ, MX, MY, MZ) independently as constant values or as time-based fields. Components Vector FieldAllows you to define one time-assigned field for the force components and a second time-assigned field for the moment components. |
| Name | |
| Name | Sets the name of the distributed force load. |
| Description | Sets the description of the distributed force load. |
| Destination Folder | |
| Load Container | Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the boundary condition will be stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container. To view a hierarchical list of existing folders, click Folder Manager . To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder. |
| Target Region | |
| Target Region | Lets you select the Region that the total force is distributed to.Select an existing region or click Create Region to create a new edge or face region. See Working with reusable regions. |
| Direction | |
| CSYS | Sets the coordinate system that the software uses to apply the force load. You can select the Global Cyclic Analysis or the Global coordinate system, or you can create one of the following types of local coordinate systems: Cartesian, Cylindrical.Note: The Global Cyclic Analysis coordinate system is available only if it is defined in the FEM. |
| Load Point | |
| Reference Offset | Sets the origin from which the load point is specified. |
| Dx, Dy, Dz | Defines the load point with respect to the reference offset location. |
| Load Components | |
| Fx, Fy, Fz, Mx, My, Mz****Fr, Ft, Fz, Mr, Mt, Mz | Appears when Type is set to Components Scalar Field.Sets the force or moment magnitude for each component. For more information, see Additional magnitude options. The components available depend on your selection for CSYS. |
| Force | |
| Appears when Type is set to Components Vector Field. | |
| Specify Field | Lets you select or define a time-based field to define the force components. |
| Scale Factors****Fx, Fy, Fz | Lets you define a scale factor for the field components. |
| Moment | |
| Appears when the Type is set to Components Vector Field. | |
| Specify Field | Lets you select or define a time-based field to define the moment components. |
| Scale Factors****Mx, My, Mz | Lets you define a scale factor for the field components. |
| Calculated Centroid | |
| Centroid X, Centroid Y, Centroid Z | Displays the calculated centroid location. You can use the centroid location as the Reference Offset to define the load point. |
