Evaluate Nodal Function Response dialog box

Result
Result Specifies the type of response results for which to generate functions.Displacement****Velocity Acceleration StressStrainReaction ForceNote: The result types available depend on the output requests you enabled in the Structural Output Request for the solution. For more information, see Define Response Dynamics result types.
Response Node
Select Node Lets you select one or more nodes on the model where you want to generate response functions. A function will be generated for each node you select (you can select up to 100 nodes).
Node Labels Lets you add nodes to the selection.Use a space or comma to separate your entries.Use a colon or a dash to add a range of node labels. For example, enter 1:10 or 1-10 to add all the node labels from 1 to 10.Use colons to add an incremented range of node labels. For example, enter:1:9:2 to add node labels 1, 3, 5, 7, 9.1:10:2 to add node labels 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10.10:1:-2 to add node labels 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1.Press Enter or click Select to add your entries. To edit your selection, click Edit Node Selection .
Observation Node
Relative to Available when Result is set to Displacement, Velocity, or Acceleration.Calculates the motion relative to a node you select (instead of generating overall, absolute results).
Select Node Available when the Relative to check box is selected.Lets you select the node relative to which the response should be evaluated.
Node Label Lets you select the node relative to which the response should be evaluated by node label.Press Enter or click Select to add your entry. To edit your selection, click Edit Node Selection .
Response Request
User Defined Direction Displays the vector list that lets you define the direction of the evaluation by selecting a node, vertex, or edge.
Data Component (option) Lets you select the direction in which to evaluate the nodal response as axes of the nodal displacement coordinate system (the nodal frame of reference for the structural degrees of freedom).
Specify Vector Available if Response Request is set to User Defined Direction.Lets you specify the direction to evaluate. For example, if the excitation was defined in the Y direction, you probably want to evaluate the response in the Y direction. For information about the Vector dialog box, see Vector dialog box.
Data Component Available if Response Request is set to Data Component.Specifies the direction in which to evaluate the nodal response, as axes of the nodal displacement coordinate system. For more information about data components, see Vector and tensor components and invariants.
Reverse Direction Available when you are defining translational excitation locations, when User Defined Direction is selected.Reverses the current direction of the evaluation.
Evaluation Location
Beam Element If you are evaluating stress or strain for beam elements, select the stress recovery point on the beam cross section where you want to recover response results. The letters C, D, E, and F correspond to the four stress recovery points on a typical beam section. The All option evaluates stress at all four recovery points.
Shell Element Layer For shell elements, select the region over which the stress and strain should be calculated: Top, Middle, or Bottom. The All option calculates stress and strain over all three regions.
Output Setting
Store to AFU Saves the generated response function(s) to an AFU file. This option is useful if you will be evaluating contour results and want to use the plotted response function to define the range of your evaluation (by selecting data points on the graph). The AFU file is created automatically with the same name as your simulation file, in the working directory where your simulation file is located.
XY Graphing Plots the response function as an XY graph in the graphics window.
Record Name Prefix Lets you enter a descriptive prefix to identify the generated function records in the AFU file in which they are saved.
