Add companion results data
If you use additional processing to derive custom results data for your analyses, you can use Add Companion Result Data to incorporate these results into a target solution results set in the Simulation Navigator. You can then post-process these derived results alongside standard solution results.
Derived result data files must:
Be in a results file format that this software can read (.op2, vdm, .rst, .rth, .fil, .unv, .bun, or .post).
Be for the same model as the target results set.
Contain results data only. Node and element geometry is retrieved from the target results set.
In the Simulation Navigator, right-click the target results node and choose Add Companion Result Data. The Companion Result dialog box is displayed.
In the Result File box, enter the path and file name of the file containing companion result data, or click Browse to navigate to and select the result file.
In the Name box, enter or modify the companion result data name. This name appears in the Simulation Navigator as a node under the target result set node.
Choose the method for appending result data:Choose Create new load cases to add the companion data as a new load case.Choose Merge into primary results data to add the companion data as additional results in the current primary load case.
Click OK.
