Customizing simulation objects with user defined text (Simcenter Samcef)

In a Simcenter Samcef simulation object, in the Advanced Parameters group, in the User Defined Parameters box, you can manually add parameters for the Samcef Card Name command that is exported for that simulation object.

Caveats

  • The added text must be compliant with the Simcenter Samcef command language terminology. For more information, see the Simcenter Samcef documentation.

  • In the User Defined Parameters box, if you redefine a parameter that is normally created by the Samcef command attached to the simulation object, the final value of the parameter is one of the User Defined Parameters properties.

  • Some parameters of the command are mutually exclusive and cannot be defined in the command at the same time. For example, if you define a Surface-to-Surface contact with the Uncoupled with Friction configuration, you cannot add OPCO 2 in the User Defined Parameters box because this option is reserved for a Coupled with Friction configuration.See the Simcenter Samcef command documentation before adding data in the User Defined Parameters property.

Example

Consider a Surface-to-Surface contact that generates the following .MCT command:

.MCT I 1 NAME "mct1" GROUP "MCT_FACE1" GTAR "MCT_FACE2"    NLIM 1    OPT 2 OPCO 2    CF 1 CFNF 4

If, in the User Defined Parameters box, you add:

KSMO 1DGAP 0.003 NLIM 3

The output is:

.MCT I 1 NAME "mct1" GROUP "MCT_FACE1" GTAR "MCT_FACE2"    NLIM 1    OPT 2 OPCO 2    CF 1 CFNF 4! User Defined Parameters    KSMO 1    DGAP 0.003 NLIM 3

The final value of NLIM is 3.
