Duct Flow Boundary Conditions dialog box – Duct Opening options

Option Description
Name Defines the simulation object's name.Description opens an editor that lets you type a description for the simulation object.
Destination Folder
Simulation Object Container Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the boundary condition will be stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container.
Folder Manager Displays a hierarchical listing of existing folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder.
Region
Group Reference Lets you apply the duct opening to a group. For more information, see Group Reference options.
Select Object Lets you specify where to create the duct opening.Excluded lets you remove individual entities from within your selected object.
Stacked Smart Selector Methods Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box.
External Conditions
External Temperature Specifies the temperature of the fluid at the duct opening.AmbientSets the opening to the Fluid Temperature value defined in the Ambient Conditions page in the Solution dialog box.SpecifyLets you specify the temperature value.
Temperature Value Appears when External Temperature is set to Specify.Sets a value to define temperature at the duct opening. For more information, see Additional magnitude options.
External Total Pressure — Gauge Specifies the pressure of the fluid at the duct opening.AmbientSets the opening to the Pressure values defined in the Ambient Conditions page in the Solution dialog box.Specify Lets you specify the total pressure value at the duct opening in the Pressure Value box.For more information, see Additional magnitude options.
Head Loss
Head Loss Control Adds a head loss as the fluid passes into or out of the system.
Head Loss Appears when Head Loss Control is selected.Lets you define the head loss at a duct opening as the fluid passes into or out of the system. Choose a previously defined Duct Head Loss modeling object from the list or click Create Modeling Object to create a new one. For more information, see Duct Head Loss.
