Monitor Point - Sums Grid Point Forces dialog box (Simcenter Nastran)

This modeling object lets you request output to the .f06 file of summed grid point (nodal) forces and moments at a chosen integrated load point. It corresponds to the MONPNT3 bulk entry.

Modeling Object
Name Sets the name of the modeling object.
Label Sets a unique numerical identifier for the modeling object.
Properties
Description Lets you enter a brief description. Click to open a text editor where you can enter a longer description.
Card Name Displays the name of the Simcenter Nastran bulk entry.
Name Sets a unique name for the monitor point. You can search on this name in the .f06 file.
Label Sets a label for the monitor point. You can search on this label in the .f06 file.Allows you to enter additional information to identify the monitor point.
Component Axes Used for Summation Selects the component axes about which to sum the nodal forces and moments.
Grid Group Specifies the grid (node) set, or lets you click New Group to create a node set. Note: When you create a group of nodes, enter the labels in the Node Labels group, which is the only entity type supported. The node set that you specify must include all nodes necessary to sum forces and moments about the Summation Point.
Element Group Specifies the element set or lets you click New Group to create an element set. Note: When you create a group of elements, enter the labels in the Element Labels group, which is the only entity type supported. The element set that you specify should include the elements that are attached to the nodes in the node set to sum forces and moments about the Summation Point. Elements that do not contain any nodes in the Grid Group do not contribute to the summation. To account for the contribution of attached elements, you must select the Enable GPFORCE Request check box in the Structural Output Requests or Vibro-Acoustic Output Requests dialog box on the Grid Point Force page. You must select the output request with the enabled check box in the Solution dialog box for all subcases or Solution Step dialog box for individual subcases.
Reference CSYS Specifies the reference coordinate system for the Summation Point. For information on the different coordinate systems, see Simulation coordinate systems.
Point Selection Appears when Reference CSYS is set to Absolute.Create a point or select an existing node that the software will use to sum the nodal forces or moments with respect to that point or node. Note: If Reference CSYS is set to Cartesian, Cylindrical, or Spherical, you must specify a local coordinate system and enter the corresponding coordinates:X, Y, and ZCoordinates for Cartesian CSYS.R, Theta, and ZCoordinates for Cylindrical CSYS.R, Theta, and PhiCoordinates for Spherical CSYS.
Summation Exclusion Flags Controls the nodal force and moment types to be included in or excluded from the summation at the Summation Point.
Same as Coordinate System Used for Summation Point Controls whether the output coordinate system is the same as the coordinate system used for the Summation Point.Note: If you clear this check box, you must specify a coordinate system from the CSYS list.
CSYS Appears when the Same as Coordinate System Used for Summation Point check box is cleared.Specifies the output coordinate system. This is useful when you need to compare results that were computed with a different coordinate system.Note: If CSYS is set to Cartesian, Cylindrical, or Spherical, you must specify a local coordinate system.
