Advanced Solver Options dialog box (Simcenter Samcef)
General tab
| Output File Units | |
|---|---|
| **Units (Force)(Length)(Mass)**Temperature | Specifies the default units for export. |
| Output File Name | |
| Infer | Lets Samcef automatically define the full path name of the output file for the export.Note: To define the path name, use the Part File Directory option (File→Utilities→Customer Defaults→Gateway→General). |
| User Defined | Lets you manually define the full path name of the output file for the export. |
| File Name | Available when you select User Defined.Lets specify the file name and path for the output file for the export. |
| File Options for Export | |
| Export Model Using FEM Hierarchy Format | Lets you export the Samcef model to a hierarchical list of input files. For more information, see Exporting a model to a hierarchical list of input files (Simcenter Samcef).Clear this check box if you want to export the Samcef model into a single input file. |
| Export Model Grouping Materials in a File | Lets you export the Samcef materials to a specific input file. For more information, see Exporting a model to a hierarchical list of input files (Simcenter Samcef).Clear this check box if you want to export the Samcef materials inside the Samcef main input file. |
Export Options tab
| Output Options | |
|---|---|
| Export Unused Materials | Exports unused materials. From the Local Materials library, by default, Samcef exports only materials that are used in the model (in physical properties/mesh collectors). Select this check box to export the unused materials as well. |
| Silent Mode (MODE ECHO 0) | By default, the Samcef solver echos each command that is read and interpreted. Select this check box to prevent this echo.Select this check box to prevent this echo. |
| Spy Mode (MODE M 1) | In spy mode, the Samcef pre-processor creates a special log file (.spy file) that records every operation the pre-processor performs.Select this check box if you want to create the .spy file. |
| Generate Executable Batch File | Enables the batch executable file generation. |
| Model Summary | Outputs in the Information window a summary of the exported model. |
| Generate Light Solver Database | Specifies the Simcenter Samcef databases you want to generate.StandardThe software generates a standard Simcenter Samcef database.LightThe software creates a small database that is cleaned of specific internal results (such as stresses at Gauss points) and is faster when you post-process results. The software parses this database when you post-process results.Note: You cannot use this small database when you perform a restart of your computation.BothBoth types of database are generated. The software parses the small database when you post-process results. |
| Export Unused Groups | Exports unused groups in the Simcenter Samcef input file. |
| Export Unused Selection Recipes | Exports unused selection recipes in the Simcenter Samcef input file.In the .dat file, the selection recipes are identified with an SR_ prefix. If the selection recipe contains a mix of FE entities, they are grouped by nodes, elements, and element faces with the appropriate suffix, that is, _Node, _Element, and _Face. |
| Export Method | Specifies which Samcef commands to export: Export All or Export selected Bacon command(s).If you select Export selected Bacon command(s), you can select or clear the check boxes for individual commands. You can click Select All and then clear the check boxes for the commands that you do not want to export, or click Deselect All and then select the check boxes for the commands that you want to export.Note: Removing some of these commands from the output file may lead to critical errors if you solve the model. |
Formatting Options tab
| General Options | |
|---|---|
| Write Comments | By default, the Samcef input file contains comment (! comment) lines that detail some of the commands (or blocks of commands) that are written in the file.Clear this check box to remove these comments (not recommended). |
| Sort Id (Nodes/Elements) | Outputs node and element IDs in ascending order. |
| Float Format | |
| Number Format | Specifies the number format to use for output node coordinates:DefaultThe software chooses the right format.Scientific NotationThe software uses scientific notation.Real Data PrecisionThe software uses decimal notation with the fixed number of decimals that you specify. |
| Apply Real Data Filter Value To All Real Values | Exports as zero all real numbers that are below the value set in Real Data Filter Value. |
| Real Data Filter Value | Available when the Apply Real Data Filter Value To All Real Values check box is selected.Sets the threshold for real numbers to be set to zero in the Samcef input (deck) file. |
| Align Node Coordinates | Appears when Number Format is set to Scientific Notation or Real Data Precision.Outputs the coordinate values as tabulated fields. |
| Number of Decimals | Appears when Number Format is set to Real Data Precision.Sets the fixed number of decimals to use. |
| Element Thickness Evaluation | |
| Precision for Elements Grouping | Lets you specify the accuracy for thickness for the element grouping process. For more information, see Rounding thickness values prior to export (Simcenter Samcef). |
Note:
All these parameters can also be defined as default options for Simcenter 3D in the Customer Defaults.
