Axisymmetric display options
To render axisymmetric results as a virtual solid model, use the Axi-Symmetric Display Options dialog box, which you access from the Result dialog box.
Note:
2D display options are also available for Fourier axisymmetric results. For more information, see Analyzing multiphysics results.
You can specify the axis of rotation (the default is inferred from the results) and the start and end angles. For example, set the Start Revolve Angle to 0 and the End Revolve Angle to 360 to render the full 3D part. Specify different start and end angles to render the model as a cutaway, wedge, and so on.
You can specify the number of radial sections to sweep through for the rendering. The more sections, the finer the display, but the more resources used.
The following example shows axisymmetric results displayed on free element faces.
The following example shows the same results as a 270-degree 3D axisymmetric cutaway display. Edges are set to Feature.
Ability to perform operations on axisymmetric results
- The ability to perform operations on a selected sector of any type of axisymmetric results have been added to the following commands:IdentifyWhen using the Identify command with axisymmetric results, the returned information includes the node ID and its theta value.GraphThe Graph command recognizes instanced grids so you can plot the results of a path across the circumference of the 3D model. New AnnotationThe New Annotation command lets you create annotations attached to specific rotation.
