Moving nodes in 2D elements
Use the Move Node command to move a selected node to a new location. With Move Node, you first select the node to move and then choose a new location within the same mesh. The software moves the source node to the location of the target node and deletes the source node. This process changes the connectivity of the elements associated to the source node. Additionally, the software may combine or delete elements where necessary.
This example shows how you can use Move Node to eliminate an element from a mesh.

Limitations on moving nodes
You cannot use the Move Node command to move a node to a new location in certain situations. For example, you cannot:
Move a mid-node to a corner node. Likewise, you cannot move a corner node to a mid-node.
Move a node in a component FEM within an assembly FEM.
Move nodes that belong to connection elements, such as CBEAM or RBE3 elements.
