Thermal Coupling — Convection dialog box
Use this dialog box to set options for the Thermal Coupling — Convection simulation object for the Simcenter 3D Thermal/Flow, Space Systems Thermal, Electronic Systems Cooling, and Multiphysics solvers.

| Convection Coupling | Models convective couplings between the fluid ducts and the convecting region using the specified heat transfer coefficient. For more information, see Convection Coupling options. |
| Forced Convection Coupling | Models forced convective couplings computed using standard correlations for forced convection in a 1D flow system with a developing boundary layer, or a fully developed boundary layer. For more information, see Forced Convection Coupling options. |
| Free Convection Coupling | Models free convective couplings computed using standard correlations for free convection from regular objects. For more information, see Free Convection Coupling options. |
| Across Gap Convection Coupling | Models heat transfer between two parallel surfaces (regions) where a convecting fluid is the medium of heat exchange. For more information, see Across Gap Convection Coupling options. |
| Duct Node Convection Coupling | Models convection heat transfer between fluid duct nodes and the duct wall. For more information, see Duct Node Convection Coupling options. |
