Stress biaxial ratio
For biaxial fatigue evaluation, the durability solver assumes that the loading is proportional, and that the stress biaxial ratio, which is the ratio between the stresses on the two principal axes, is constant. However, in a general event, the loading may not be proportional and the stress biaxial ratio changes from time to time. The durability solver uses the linear least square method to determine the stress biaxial ratio r using the following equation:
where and are the stress time histories in the primary and secondary loading directions.
Because the numerator and denominator are summations, you do not have to worry about whether an individual term is small or large. More data points lead to better estimation of the stress biaxial ratio r.
