Mesh validity checking during import (ANSYS)

When you import an ANSYS input file, this software automatically checks for the existence of each node on a given element in your input file. If any of an element's nodes are missing from the input file, the software:

  • Does not import the element.

  • Issues an error message when it first encounters an element with missing nodes. For ANSYS input files, the software lists all elements that have invalid entities, such as missing or invalid real constant values, as well as missing nodes, as shown below:**** WARNING **** The following elements have invalid data: (Element) |(Material)|   (ET)   |    (R)   |(Section) |  (ESYS)  | (Nodes)       272 |          |          |        3 |          |          |       294 |          |          |        3 |          |          |  25,26       646 |          |          |       17 |          |          |

  • Clearly lists that the element failed to import in the Analysis of Import report.
