Viscoelastic properties in the Material dialog box (Simcenter Samcef)
| Property View | |
|---|---|
| From the Property View of an Isotropic material, select the Samcef Isotropic Structure type to add viscoelastic properties to a Samcef isotropic material. From the Property View of an Orthotropic material, select the Samcef Orthotropic Structure type to add viscoelastic properties to a Samcef orthotropic material. From the Property View of an Anisotropic material, select the Samcef Anisotropic Structure type to add viscoelastic properties to a Samcef anisotropic material. | |
| Viscoelasticity page | |
| Model | Lets you select the viscoelastic model. You can choose between a Zener, a Maxwell, or a Kelvin model. |
| The following option appears if the Model list is set to Maxwell, Kelvin, or Zener. | |
| Damping | Define the α damping coefficient of the law. You can define a temperature dependent value. For more information, see the VELA parameter of the Maxwell/Zener/Kelvin material in the Samcef Viscoelastic behavior page. |
| The following option appears if the Model list is set to Zener. | |
| 2nd Hooke Coefficient | Define the γ Hooke coefficient of the Kelvin component of the Zener law. You can define a temperature dependent value. For more information, see the VELG parameter of the Zener material in the Samcef Viscoelastic behavior page. |
