Select 2D elements enclosed by a path

  1. On the scene toolbar, from the Method list, select 2D Elements Enclosed by Path.

  2. On the Top Border bar, from the Type Filter, select Element.

  3. (Optional) Click Smart Selector Options to specify the Loop Direction and other options, such as Prefer Free Element Edges.The path you define must be in the same direction (clockwise or counter-clockwise) as the loop direction selected in the Smart Selector Options dialog box.

  4. Pick an element edge near the starting point of the path.The software extends the path of the element edges with a dashed line and an arrow indicates the direction of the path.Element edge path

  5. Pick an element edge near the end of the path.

  6. Continue selecting edges until you have defined an enclosed area as indicated by the dashed line.

  7. The software selects the element faces enclosed by the path you have defined.2D Elements enclosed by a path
