Create a two-sided stream on edges

This example shows how to create a two-sided stream on edges.

Click Home tab→Loads and Conditions group→Load Type list →Thermal Stream .

Set the following:

  1. Type = Two-Sided Stream on Edges

  2. Name = Stream 7

  3. Selection Type (Path Selection — Side A and Path Selection — Side B groups) = Polygon Edge

Select the first (1) and last (2) polygon edges to specify the stream path on side A.

In the Path Selection — Side B group, click Select Object and, in the graphics window, select the first (1) and last (2) polygon edges to specify the stream path on side B.

Make sure that the stream direction is in the same direction for sides A and B.

Set the following:

Fluid group

  • Fluid Material = Air

Stream Conditions group

  • Mass Flow = 0.9880 kg/sec

  • Inlet Temperature = 666.42 C

  • Pressure = 0.0493 N/mm^2(MPa)

Heat Transfer — Side A group

  • Heat Transfer Coefficient = 150 W/m^2-C

Heat Transfer — Side B group

  • Use same Heat Transfer as Side A check box =

  • Heat Transfer Coefficient = 175 W/m^2-C

Click OK.
