Deactivation Set

Use the Deactivation Set or Deactivation Set Advanced simulation object to deactivate elements on selected geometry for specific processes in the analysis. The thermal solver ignores the deactivated elements while performing the calculations related to the selected option.

Deactivating elements allows you to:

  • Perform localized analyses.

  • Construct a system level model by individually analyzing different types of thermal and flow data for specific parts of your model.

Note:

Deactivation Set Advanced is available for advanced solution types.

For flow solutions, you can only apply the Deactivation Set simulation object to 3D elements of body-fitted fluid meshes and not to cells of immersed boundary meshes.

You can reuse results calculated individually by restarting the analysis. For more information, see Restarting a solution.
