Define grid contribution parameters

In a Simcenter Nastran FEM vibro-acoustic analysis, a Grid Contribution output request lets you define node (grid) contribution parameters.

  1. Choose Home tab → Properties group → Modeling Objects .Alternatively, click Create Modeling Object in the Case Control page of the vibro-acoustic Solution dialog box.

  2. In the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box, from the Type list, select Vibro-Acoustic Output Requests or Vibro-Acoustic Transfer Vector Response Output Requests.

  3. Click Create.

  4. Enter a name and label, or use the defaults.

  5. Select the Grid Contribution page.

  6. (Optional) In the Description box, enter a brief description for the node contribution. Click  to open a text editor where you can enter a longer description.

  7. Select the Enable GRDCON Request check box.

  8. To define the structural nodes and frequencies, select either all nodes or frequencies, or specify them manually. When you specify the nodes and frequencies manually:For node contribution, type the total number of nodes for which you want results. The software retrieves the values from the nodes that contribute the most to the response. For frequencies, choose the frequency unit and enter the frequency values in the Frequencies box.

  9. To define the entities for contributions, specify response contribution sets for fluid. In the Entity Selection group, click Create Response Contribution Sets for Fluid.

  10. In the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box, click Create to define a new response contribution set.

  11. In the Response Contribution Set dialog box, define a response contribution set in one of the following ways:Manual selection:Click .In the graphics window, select the geometry or FE entities on the model object.Reference a group:Select the Group Reference check box.Click  to create a new group.See Create and manage groups.Select a filter type. You can also select existing groups from the table.Note: To request pressure node contribution on microphones, include microphone nodes in the entity selection.

  12. Continue to define the output request parameters as needed.

  13. Before you solve the model, in the Solution dialog box, make sure this output request definition is selected. You can also edit the output request at any time before you solve.
