Simcenter Samcef superelement graphical representation in an assembly FEM

When you edit the FE Model Component Representation of the component FEM, and replace this FEM with its Simcenter Samcef superelement model, you can specify the Graphical Representation of this superelement:

Graphical Representation	Description	Note
None	No representation.	-
Approximation of base FEM	Displays a transparent, non-selectable approximation of the FE model topology.	This Approximation of base FEM representation can appear if you replace an existing FEM with its Simcenter Samcef superelement model.If you add a Simcenter Samcef superelement model to an empty FEM, no representation will appear when you select the Approximation of base FEM option.
Super Element Symbol	Displays a generic, symbolic representation of the superelement and its boundary DOF nodes.This is the default.	-
Simplified Representation	Displays a generic, symbolic representation of the superelement based on Simcenter Samcef dummy elements that have been generated during the superelement creation.	This Simplified Representation choice is only useful if you create a Simplified Representation (for Pre and Post-Processing) in the Output page of the Superelement Creation solution of the superelement file you refer to.If you do not create a Simplified Representation during the superelement creation, no representation will appear when you select the Simplified Representation option.

Where do I find it?

Application	Pre/Post
Prerequisite	An assembly FEM of the system being modeled.Static or modal reductions (*.sdb & *.u18 files) of components to be modeled as superelements for Simcenter Samcef.
Simulation Navigator	Component FEM or subassembly FEM node → right-click → Edit Representation.FE Model Component Representation dialog box → Representation → Samcef Superelement.
Location in dialog box	Graphical Representation group.
