Nodal Capacity in thermal analyses (Simcenter Samcef Thermal)
In Simcenter Samcef thermal analyses, you can use the Nodal Capacity element or simulation object to define thermal capacities on nodes.
In a FEM, you can define a Nodal Capacity [T237] element. You can specify its Mass or Volume. You can define its Surface Flux (SFLU), Surface Convection (SCON), and the Surface Radiation (SRAD). This creates a Simcenter Samcef CAPA element.
In a Simulation file, you can use a Nodal Capacity simulation object. It offers the same capabilities as the Nodal Capacity [T237] element, but with the simulation object you can directly define the capacity-related boundary conditions: Convection constraint, Surface Flux, Volume Flux loads, or Radiation load.
